MAX ceramics materials Ti3SiC2


Titanium silicon carbon (Ti3SiC2) is a new ternary layered ceramic material, both metal and ceramic properties in one. It has excellent properties of ceramics, such as high yield strength, high melting point, high thermal stability and high temperature strength, as well as good oxidation resistance, thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance. At the same time, it has the properties of metal. It has high thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity at room temperature, and can be machined with high-speed steel tools like metal. It has good plasticity at high temperature, lower friction coefficient and better self-lubricating performance than graphite.

Use of Ti3SiC2

Due to its lower friction coefficient and better self-lubricating performance than graphite and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), it can be used for sliding parts in the mechanical industry, such as sliding rings, bearing bushes, self-lubricating bearings and high-temperature bearing used in the oxidation atmosphere.

1.    It can be used for sliding electric contact parts in mechanical and electrical engineering, such as pantograph slide board, electrode, brush material, commutator of micromotor, electric contact etc.

2.    Can be used in the electronic industry, as an electronic packaging radiator, lead frame, etc.

3.    Continuous casting mould in metallurgy industry.
