Boron Carbide and Silicon Carbide Powders and Compounds

Boron carbide (B4C) powder from advanced abrasives has a Mohs hardness of 9.5, almost as hard as cubic boron nitride (cBN), and can therefore be used as a low-cost alternative to diamond and cubic boron nitride abrasives.  The tightly controlled grading and particle shape of this powder results in high cutting rates and uniform finish.

Also used as a boron carbide compound, the powder is presented in a grease based carrier.  Boron carbide powder and compounds are available in a variety of grinding sizes from F10/30 to F1500, suitable for precision grinding and polishing of many engineering materials.

Advanced abrasive black silicon carbide powder is an accurate water classification specification.  Controlled grading and precise particle shape provide uniform polishing and high cutting rates.  It offers a wide range of abrasive sizes from F80/100 to F1200 for pressure sandblasting, bonding and coating abrasive products, sawing quartz, precision grinding and polishing.

PremaSol silicon carbide compounds are produced from silicon carbide powder on a selected base carrier (universal base, oil base or water base).  Tightly controlled grading and particle shape ensure high cutting rates and uniform finish.  The grinding size varies from 1-80 μ m and is usually used for precision grinding of ceramic and metal sealing surfaces.
